Project Teams to Product Teams with Team Topologies

I joined PureGym in 2015 and while we had a small team, we utilized the benefits of Project teams alongside a small BAU team. These short-lived highly focused teams that could deliver a project before reconfiguring for the next task.

As the department grew both in numbers of engineers and in products owned there was a need to revisit this structure, to reduce cognitive load and increase ownership in order to increase throughput.

At the end of 2019 over the space of 2 months we designed a structure around the ideas set out in team topologies book. Along with Rich Allen we documented our process for the team topologies blog.
